fundraising commitment for school year 2000-2001

The growth and success of the West Springfield High School Crew Club depends greatly on the success of all fund-raisers.  To accomplish this, FULL participation of all the rowers and their families is necessary.  The fund-raisers are required in order to supplement dues that allow us to meet our yearly expenses inherent to the operation of crew activities.  Any funds raised beyond budgeted expenses provide the means to purchase new or replacement equipment.  In order to purchase any new equipment during the year, the funds must be available in the fall to ensure their delivery for use in spring events.

Enclosed you will find a projected list of fund-raising activities scheduled for the school year.  Please keep it handy and available during the season so that you can keep track of your completed fund-raisers and track your required points.

For the returning rowers, a fund-raising commitment of $500 is required for the year.  $250 of fund-raising is mandatory prior to December 31, 1999.  1st year rowers must raise $250 but are encouraged to do more.  Extra funds will allow us to purchase new equipment sooner without having to raise team dues.  Parents participating in fund-raisers will receive credit for their family crew-members.

Our goal is to create enough potentially successful fundraising events so that the rowers can complete their requirements prior to the NOVAS (Regional Championships) and the Away Regattas throughout the month of May.  This way, all their emphasis can be centered around on-water practicing and boat preparation for these major regattas.  Your support and commitment is not only requested but also greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to fulfill these fund-raiser requirements, you will be billed for shortages on December 31st (for returning rowers) and April 15th (for all rowers) for all shortages in your fund-raising account.

All money and/or paperwork from each fund-raiser MUST be turned in within ten (10) days of each event.  The status of your fund-raising requirements will be taken into account when selecting the rowers for participation in NOVAS and all Away Regattas.

Participation status will be provided to the rowers, Captains, Coaches and Parents at the end of each month. Point totals will be posted on Mrs. Andrew’s door and will also be available at all General Meetings.  Questions regarding fund-raising points should be addressed immediately.

By signing below, each person acknowledges that they understand the fund-raising policy for the West Springfield High School Crew Club and will abide by its requirements.
